Oregano can help colds and flu as it is a stimulant and diaphoretic.

It is an antiseptic and can be used as a mouthwash for mouth sores and oral inflammations

Externally it is an effective treatment for infected wounds and cuts.

As in infusion Origanum vulgare is beneficial for whooping cough as an infusion


The oil of Oregano can be used for rheumatic and muscular pain.

As a lotion Oregano can be used to ease stings and bites.

Origanum vulgare is also useful to relive tension headaches when used as the oil.
